Alberta Irrer

irrer_albertaAlberta Irrer passed away, April 28, 2013 at the age of 96. Born July 31, 1916, in Fowler, MI, she was the daughter of Albert and Augustina (Hafner) Martin. Alberta married Norman Irrer in Fowler on October 18, 1941 who preceded her in death on June 9, 1986.

Alberta is survived by her six children, Tom (Marilyn) Irrer of St. Johns, Jean Reed of Colorado Springs, CO, Dick (Deborah) Irrer of Okemos, Kathy (Gary) Wilson of Traverse City, Jim (Corliss) Irrer of Ann Arbor, Joseph Irrer of Farmington Hills, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman Irrer and sisters Gertrude Ruddy and Sister Rita Martin, O.P. as well as one brother, Robert Martin.

A memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns with Fr. Michael Williams presiding. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service being held at 7 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held in August. Memorial donations may be made in Alberta’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1755 Abbey Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823 or Briggs Public Library, 108 East Railroad Street, St. Johns, MI 48879.

The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
